Macs: Export to Word fails

$

Take one simple Word file containing one line...

     simple document.

On MacOS I'm using Word 2008.

Export this file as a PDF - this appears to use the native Mac PDF export.

Open PDF with Acrobat DC and attempt to export as a Word - or any complex format.

I get the dreaded

Save as failed to open this document

No file was created.

This works on one of my machines, and fails on another. There are no problems with file permissions because I am working on the Desktop.

Is there ANY log which tells me why this is failing? There appears to be nothing in the system log.

I don't seem to have the option of repairing the installation which some people ask - it's not in my Help menu.

Re-installing from Creative Cloud seems impossible without losing Acrobat completely - which doesn't seem to be good engineering - what happens if I cannot get it back?

Anyone with good ideas about

a)     why this fails?

b)     can I stop it happening?

This is Yosemite BTW.

you cannot change security on this document because the document is signed or certified.

I just downloaded the free trial of Adobe Acrobat DC Pro. Now it says all my pdf files are (SECURED) but I have not (knowingly) set up any security on the files. My goal is to edit and save the documents.

I can fill in the forms but when I go to save the document an error message: "The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (105)."

When i click on edit pdf on the right side bar another error message "This form cannot be edited in Adobe Acrobat DC. Please use Adobe LiveCycle Designer to edit this form."

I do not want to download another program to have this program work. I have looked at potential solutions on the internet but nothing has been useful. I have used Adobe Pro XI in the past and it worked fine. I was told to use this for work. I have a Windows 8 laptop.

Please advice.

After updating, I can no longer save forms from Acrobat as JPG images. How do I fix this?

My computer crashed about a week ago. I used to use acrobat to complete forms for work. My customers like these forms locked and emailed to them. The easiest and most efficient way I found to do this was to save the forms as JPG images which can only be viewed and are much smaller files than PDF's, making emailing easier and faster. After getting the computer back up and running, the option to save directly as a JPG image in acrobat is completely gone. Everyone I've spoken to is telling me that I have to download a separate program to convert them now. Is there any way I can get back to saving as a JPG?

I'm trying to extract pages from a large 438 page file but I get an error message that reads "there was a problem reading this document (15)."

Cannot delete individual pages in Adobe Acrobat X PDF

So annoying.  When I try to delete individual pages it gives me the error message "one or more pages are in use and cannot be deleted".  I have tried closing the thumbnail page preview pane, selecting the pages and hitting backspace (delete), highlighting and choosing the 'delete page' icon at the top of the toolbar....nothing.  I have seen a lot of threads about this issue that are dated 2011 with no solutions.  Has anyone out there found the solution?

Much appreciated.

Customer has e-mails that have conversations each on in the e-mail joggs to the right. several pages long.. But when PDF os made is 900 pages with viritcal text

The e-mails have conversations going on in them i.e. reply's back and forth. The e-mail when you look at it each conversation as it goes back in time "jogs to the tight and the font gets smaller. At the bottom the text is small but readable. When the PDF these e-mails 3 pages of conversation turns into 900 pages with the pdf displaying horizontal text.. This is not at the beginning of the PDF starts out fine, but whe it gets to the jogging to the right the PDF turns this into 900 pages?

Any one know how they can PDF these received e-mails ... ATTY office so very important...

XPS writer does exactly the same thing....

How can they ?? reformat received e-mails into some thing adobe can work with. Or how can we get adobe to create what they have 3 pages jogging to the right as you go down the e-mail.

(tried to forward the mail but hidden ?? tabs?? what ever is jogging each conversation to the right as you go down the e-mail can not be seen or removed at least by trying to forward it...

I can edit the text when I try to forward but cant move the text or back space away the "what ever code is formatting the mail" to jog to the right per conversation/reply..??

any ideas anyone seen this before?

Thank you,

Keith

Can't open a doc in the document cloud from Acrobat Pro DC????

I signed up for the document could at the same time I bought Acrobat Pro DC for mac.  I can get to the document cloud from a browser and from there open it in Acrobat Pro DC.  But ... File/Open in Acrobat Pro DC offers me the choices of opening from the computer or from the Creative cloud -- and not from the document cloud.  It does list iCloud and GoogleDrive as available drives -- so I guess I am better off using iCloud or Google Drive instead of the Adobe document cloud.  I cannot get from the Creative cloud (for which I have no account) to the document cloud.  Seems odd that this is the way Adobe engineers arranged it.

Hello All,

I am using Acrobat 11 to convert PDF's to MS Word .doc or .docx. The tables are converted correctly but they are inside Text Boxes. My documents have hundreds of tables and I cant manually remove the text boxes.

Is there a way to remove the Text Box that contains each table?

Split PDF portfolio, with a catch however

What I have:

One PDF portfolio containing multiple PDF files with a varying number of pages

What I am trying to achieve:

Split or disassemble the PDF portfolio into single PDF files (not into single pages!)

The problem:

I created the PDF portfolio using outlook to make a backup of an inbox. Therefore every PDF file that is in the portfolio is a PDF printout of an email. And this is where it becomes problematic for me as some emails had the the same subject. As a result there are numerous PDF files in the portfolio that have the same file name. This leads to a finder (or explorer, depending on the operating system,) conflict when I am using the export function of Acrobat Reader and I am only offered the two following choices: skip (the export of this file) or overwrite (the other PDF file with the same name). I am not offered to "keep both". As I have several portfolios of this type and each contain hundreds of emails the extent of this problem is too big to be fixed manually. I am therefore looking for an automated solution to this problem.

Tech Specs:

Software: Adobe Reader 11.0.10

Operating system:  OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

I also have access to a PC running Windows 7.

Thank you!
