When I water mark a document in Adobe, and then open it in preview, the water mark disapears. I've password protected and encripted the document in the security settings, but for some reason, it still goes away.

Is there a way to set a default font for adding text?

Right now it is always set to a Chinese font:

extract pages

With Adobe 9 I was able to extract pages just with the shortcut Alt+D+E.

Now with Adobe XI Pro It look likes there is no straight shortcut to do the same (I don't want to use the mouse for an operation that I have to carry out routinely).

Is there a shortcut? Can I create a customized shortcut?

Thanks

When editing .pdf file in Adobe Acrobat X. it does not allow to write some Slovak keys as č, ľ, ť.

.

It announced to go to  TouchUp properties dialog....

.

I did it and I chose Arial and it announced “ The change to a different font was not done because the chosen font and the font encodings in the document differ and could not be resolved”

.

How to solve this problem?

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (Tools Bug)

The program will not allow me to apply the "arrow" design to any document. - Once drawn and released, it disappears. I have to draw one with the "contineous" line tool in order to make use of an arrow feature on every document.

Is there a fix for this Bug?

How do I convert several pages into one continuous page?

I work in the oil & gas industry and we work with engineering logs. We have been sent some logs in PDF which we usually get them in .tiff files and it is one continuous page. Those are able to be uploaded into the software we use. But we cannot upload it when it has several pages. Is there a way to do this in Adobe x Pro?

Will digital signature work for this?

Hi,

I've never done this before and wonder if it will work.

I'm using  Acrobat 9 pro extended. I'm creating and sending a Copyright Agreement pdf file that has to be signed by me and the client.  Using the form editing mode I can put  digital signature fields.  Then  back in regular editing mode when I click on a field, it brings the Sign Document dialog with my name already selected and choosing Sign puts my digital signature. I can't remember what I've done previously for my name to be available but I remember signing digitally pdf documents in the past. I don't know if my client has previously signed PDFs but I would like this to be as smooth as possible and assuming the worst case scenario, I wonder if they will be able to sign it, what eventual troubles they may have, and what instructions should I give them along with the pdf?

I will greatly appreciate your help

How do I prevent Acrobat from encoding # in hyperlinks to %23 when generating a PDF from Word 2010?

Existing posts seem to indicate that the only solution is to manually modify each hyperlink in the generated PDF. This is a tedious and time-consuming process that I would like to avoid at any cost. Is there an alternative?

Entire document momentarily flickers white when editing/adding text

Using Adobe Illustrator I exported an Adobe PDF.    Back in Adobe Acrobat Pro -> content Editing ->   I select some existing text and  as soon as I type a single character, the entire document momentarily flickers white.   Afterwards, the character I entered is visible.   This happens each and every time I try to type.   If I try to type a full sense, the screen is basically strobing until I stop typing.

This also happens in Acrobat Acrobat Professional.

I have Acrobat Pro 11.0.06

thanks!

Add text to an existing PDF?

Is there any way to add text to an existing PDF using Acrobat Professional? We receive ads as press ready PDFs from advertisers, but we have to strip in a line of text on most ad pages (circle # for reply card etc.). Currently the only way I can do it is to go through a bunch of ridiculous steps of re-saving the PDF in a flattened format that can then be imported into Quark or InDesign, or opened in Illustrator, strip in the line, then make a new PDF from that document. Isn't there some way to add a line of printing text — not an annotation — to a PDF without leaving Acrobat?

Changing Metric to Imperial on scanned machine prints

$

Well, I'm a bit lost. I don't even own a current version of acrobat (I think). Let me explain a little more.

My family owns a machine shop and we get a ton of scanned prints (of parts to machine, pdf format) which are dimensioned and toleranced in metric units. We use imperial units out on the shop floor. Currently, we have one of the girls in the office convert every dimension on the print to imperial and write it on a paper copy. If a part is complex, it can be time consuming and a little risky. One mistake could mess up everything so the guys on the floor tend to double check, which adds even more time. We still get imperial units on most of the prints we receive, so no use in changing the shop to metric.

These are not CAD files or anything that gets directly put into the machine. These dimensions get input into machines by hand typing, so it's nothing more then converting some numbers on a pdf. Problem is I'm a machinist and not really up to date with computer software.

Obviously I would like to automate this, yet I'm not sure if it's even possible. It's certainly worth buying some software if time can be saved. Not to mention the folks in the office would really appreciate the task being less tedious.

I understand, it might not be two clicks and done. Maybe highlight a dimension, skip badly scanned prints, usual trouble spots. But something has got to be better then hand writing conversions.

I'll be listening. I don't expect a full rundown of how to do it, though I won't say no. I would just like a point in the right direction. Thanks.

Hyperlinks in pdf for epub

I created hyperlinks over a graphic frame that had multiple web addresses and phone numbers. When finished, all the weblinks opened to the website and the phone numbers gave me a box about calling the numbers. The problem is once it e-published, only the top link went to a web page. It ignored the remaing web links and phone numbers. Any ideas?

Thank you

Flatten/Print to PDF

$

We need to be able to take a pdf that users have typed on using typewriter feature of Adobe Reader Xi and then somehow flatten it so that the text is no longer editable and so that the pdf can be imported into our online system and emailed, faxed without being editable.

The way we have tested this is using a third party pdf printer and that works perfectly, however we do not want to have our users using 3rd party software such as this.  We prefer to use Adobe products.  I have the Adobe PDF printer as an option which works perfectly, however the majority of our users do not have Adobe Acrobat they only have reader.  We do not want to give all users Acrobat as we have a large number of users and this is very expensive for just this one feature.  We also do not want people having all the features of Acrobat to change and manipulate forms they may encounter.

Any help is much appreciated!  Thanks in advance!

Converting Back to Original PDF Using Post Script File

Is there any way to convert back to an original PDF using a post srcipt file that was created from that original PDF?  Allow me to fully explain my situation:

I converted multiple pdf's that I created into a post script file.  I then utilized Adobe Distiller to convert them into a pdf that could be used for better printing and better usability by the end user.  Unfortunately, when Distiller did this conversion, it replaced my original pdf with the new one.  By the time I realized what was happening, all files had been replaced.

I still have the post script file that was created from the original PDF file; is there any way possible using this post script file that it can be somehow converted back to the original PDF file?  There are some edits that I need to do on the original PDF.  The pdf that Distiller creates doesn't allow for anymore edits.  My goal is to be able to make my edits without having to re-create 37 pages of documents.

The software versions I'm using are as follows: Adobe Acrobat X Version 10.1.4, Adobe Distiller Version 10.1.438.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

When combining multiple files into one PDF I am getting an error message:

"Warning:  Merged document will no longer comply with ISO 15930 (PDF/X)"

It allows me to complete the combining of files but I am wondering for how long and what am I losing in the process.  Anyone know what the resolution is to this issue?
