Unable to convert to PDF from a network location

Hello,

When trying to convert (by right clicking) an Office document (doc, xls) from a network location on one user's account, I get the following error:

"The file you have selected for conversion doesn't have any data. (Zero Length file) Please select another."

The user can convert from within Word itself using the add-on but not by right clicking. The user is able to convert by right clicking any file other than Office files from within the network location.

It works if the user moves the Office files to their desktop and then converts by right clicking.

It worked for the user before.

I (the network administrator) am able to convert Office from the network location by right clicking. The user has full rights to their network share (and can convert any file from the network share other than Office files).

I have attempted reinstalling Office and Adobe Reader X, as well as installing a trial of XI. This happens on multiple computers (same scenario as above.. normal user can convert any file from a network location other than Office files, admin can do Office files too).

Very odd issue.

Any ideas?

Batch Page Splitting Adobe DC

I have several hundred scanned batches of invoices.  I need to split them into individual invoices.  What I did in Adobe 10, was set up a batch process that recognized text, then split and saved each invoice using certain areas of text on the page.

Now with Adobe DC a new install, I can't seem to find a way to do that as a batch so I can split multiple files at once so I can run it in the background while I do other tasks.  Is there a way to accomplish this with DC, or do I figure out how to revert back to version 10?

We need a paper form.  It was created in Word and saved as a PDF.  It is not intended to be interactive, just printable.  I can see the checkboxes in the PDF.  However, when I posted the PDF to our website, the checkboxes disappeared.  How do I fix this?  Is this the correct forum for this question?

Why does Adobe have 2 different bookmark icons?

I know one results form merging pdfs and the other from manual bookmark insertion but why and is there a way to standardise it other than creating every bookmark again? This has been asked many times over several years but Adobe never answers this. If they serve no distinct purpose why create 2 icons and the ensuing confusion? I know there is a member offering to help with javascript but with all due respect I don't know him and don't know how to utilise the jar file it produces.

Hey,

I am getting "Acrobat could not compare the document completely. Do you want to see the report anyway?" error.

Before it was working fine but after upgrading to windows 10 it stopped working.

Operating system: Windows 10 Pro

Acrobat version: Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.17)

Under File->Properties->Description->Advanced->PDF Producer it says "Python PDF library - http://pybrary.net/pyPdf/

After selecting first document it will automatically select "Presentation decks, drawings or illustrations" but it should stay on "Reports, spreadsheets, magazine layouts".

I have tried reinstalling Adobe Acrobat DC Pro but it didn't help.

It works if i open pdf with word and save it as pdf but our client doesn't want to make those steps, because it worked before.

Cannot create a pdf from a particular Word document.

I have a particular Word document that I cannot convert to a pdf. It contains several section breaks (to change page orientation) as well as one to change the page size from 8.5x11 to 11x17. When I try to covert it to a pdf (from within Word) things seem to proceed normally, but the progress bar stops at about the halfway point, and then the dialogue box indicates "Adobe is not responding" and I get the rolling wheel 'busy' cursor. I have left it for up to half an hour, and it still remains hanging - the only way to recover is to use task manager to force a shutdown. If I right click on the file and select "convert to pdf" adobe gives me the message that it is opening the program that created the file, but it hangs with the progress bar not moving at all. Adobe works properly to create a pdf on some small (and simple) test documents.

I am running Adobe XI Standard, version 11.0.21 and MS Office Professional 2013 64-bit version (all up to date) under Win 10 Professional.

Any suggestions?

I'm using Acrobat XI Pro.  Is there a way to create multiple PDFs from web pages by feeding a list of URLs and having each URL converted to a PDF?  I cannot find a way to accomplish this with Action Wizard.

Extremely slow conversion of Explorer web page to PDF

I have Acrobat Pro and Explorer 11. Daily in building files, I have to convert information online to a single PDF file.  I use the add on after the first page by selecting "add web page to existing PDF."  The conversion on each page is taking 3-4 minutes. This started after my IT Dept. put me back on Windows 7.  What settings can I change or how can I speed this up.  I have no idea what version of windows I had before, but the conversion was instant up when building a PDF file of more than 20 pages.

How to merge a portfolio pdf multi page into single pdf file but keeping the pages order

Hi guys! I've exported a portfolio pdf file from Outlook which contains multiple emails, somewhere around 800 text only emails. Now I would like to combine all of these 800 pdfs into a single one but the final result doesn't keep the same page order like in the portfolio file. In the original portfolio file the emails are arranged in chronological order and i'd like to keep them that way in the combined file. How can do that?

I'm working on a very long form for a job that required filling in of lot of information. I saved a previous version that I updated with new information but now when I download that version from my google drive or try to open the changed file on my desktop the program only opens the version before I changed it. This happens even though reader will open the new version and the new version show on g-drive. Acrobat refuses to open an editable updated version and those changes tool hours to make. How can I get Acrobat to work? I need to finish this doc soon.

I created a written signature with a transparent background and saved it as a PNG. When I paste it into a word processor like TextEdit the signature appears black with a transparent background, but when I paste it into a PDF I'm creating it appears as black on black. Well, obviosly I'm not highly skilled at Acrobat, but I'm wondering why this is? What am I doing wrong?

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.

PDF Maker error - Adobe Acrobat DC and Office 2016

I am using Adobe Acrobat DC (OEM install on Dell latitude E7470) with Office 2016. Whenever I right click to create PDF with PDF Maker, I get the error message:

"An unexpected error occurred. PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF"

My Office and Adobe are up to date. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both, and I have run acrofix and a repair on Office. I can confirm that Save as PDF, Printer to PDF, and the Acrobat Tool bar for office are all working. I have spent hours trouble shooting this.

If this is just a bug with 2016 I need to know so I can stop wasting my time. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Weird Issue with Adobe Acrobat 9, X, XI Adobe PDF Printer with Windows 10

At my workplace we have a database that runs in Access Runtime 2007. In the program there is an area that prints a form to a pdf. On Windows 7 and 10 we have the Adobe PDF printer setup to not view the pdf after creation and to save to a default location instead of prompting for a filename. On Windows 7 this works fine and we have no issue, but on Windows 10 the Printer Preferences and Printer Defaults are set to the above settings. However when the Access Runtime creates the pdf, we are prompted for a save location and the pdf is opened after creation. I have some pictures on the issue. I have now found that when I go to the printer queue for the Adobe PDF printer in Windows 10, the document properties show that the options to prompt for filename/save location and view pdf after creation. Please let me know if anything is not clear.
