This is for Ebook conversion purpose, Currently am doing the text accuracy for English(EN) and Latin(EU) books using Acrobat 11 Pro application with Source and Converted PDF(final output of epub/mobi).
Similarly am trying to find the text accuracy for Chinese language books using PDF compare process, When i attempt, could see the compare report in PDF format for CN books, but i cannot catch the any text errors in it. Please advise and help me out whether i need to go for different version of acrobat or do i need to add any plug-ins with respect to language or chinese fonts here.

When I try to save a document, I get the message "the file is read-only or open by another program". I must change the name in order to save it.
When I try to save a document, I get the message "the file is read-only or open by another program". I must change the name in order to save it. If I optimize a document, I have to rename it to save it. If I open a PDF of drawings from the architect and rotate them to landscape so they are easier to read, I have to rename it. I have searched the settings to look for something that I could toggle off, but I have not found anything.

When editing a pdf, and I enable the edit text and images tool from the navigation pane, how do I exit that tool? Escape doesn't work. Very frustrated, as I can't seem to find that answer anywhere....

Bookmark and initial size trouble
In IDD Cs 6 I exported smallest size pdfs with bookmarks & hyperlinks and tagged checked
After opening Acrobat 10.1.10, loRes pdfs set view to 75% then saved.
Acrobat Properties>initial view> 75%
Properties>checked resize window to initial page size.
Despite setting some bookmark when clicked changed page size.
Client said the only way to get all pages to stick at 75% is to toss and redo all bookmarks, which she did. Seems unlikely to do IDD bookmarks only to have to toss to get them to stay 75% on all pages.
Anyone know a workaround or explanation?

How do I delete pages based on logical page number?
I have a large combined PDF document and am using logical page numbers. I only want to see the first page of each document in the combined file. How do I delete all of the page 2, 3... at once rather than deleting them from the thumbnail section or going page by page.
This is a large document combined from 300+ other documents. It does recognize 300 page 1, and 300 page 2 and so on

How to re-size image without rescanning?
I have a few PDF's I'm combining. When I initially combined them, I noticed some pages are not printing. The ones that aren't printing are odd page sizes and the file is supposed to only be a mix of 8.5x11 and 11x17 pages. What can I do to the image before combining it with the others to ensure the new file will only contain pages 8.5x11 or 11x17?

Missing Letters throughout document
I have been working on compiling a number of smaller PDFs into one larger PDF for a manual I am working on. I had everything compiled a few days ago and a co-worker added a new pto the PDF yesterday that needed to be included. As I was proofing I have come to discover that on random pages there are missing letters that were not missing prior. I have done many searches but cannot find why this is happening or how to fix it. I have tried to replace these pages with the original PDF but every time I replace the page the letters continue to be missing. I have included a small example of the missing letters.
As you can see it is does not make any sense with the missing letters. IS there anyway to fix this problem without starting over? This is a 110+ page manual.

How to create a pdf of a parent PowerPoint with a clickable child PowerPoint embedded in the parent PowerPoint?
I need to convert a PowerPoint into a pdf file and here's the situation: This PowerPoint has another embedded PowerPoint in it. So, when I create a pdf from the parent PowerPoint (using Acrobat XI Pro), the child (i.e. embedded) PowerPoint comes in as an image instead of a "clickable" PowerPoint from within the pdf file. Does anyone know / can confirm whether Acrobat Pro has this capability and if yes, how to use it? If no, what is the best tool / option you recommend?
Since I have a trial version of Acrobat XI Pro and only 28 days left now, I will greatly appreciate any prompt guidance, suggestions, etc.

Relative hyperlinks
PDF is a great format for protection of content, however, when one is developing a browser user web document for , say, ISO 9001 document generation, the use of the hyperlink does not make the package transportabel as the hyperlinks to get from one document to another seems to be absolute conly. Therefore, when a web is trasported via a flash drive or CD/DVD etc. the lnks will fail. Is there a solution to this. It would seem to be a simple task of allowing the user to use absolute OR relative linking when the link is created - at least allow the developer to edit the hyperlink if desired!

How do I shuffle two pdf files together?
I have two pdf files I would like to combine together, but in a specific order. I want the page 1 of doc1 to be inserted behind page 1 of doc2; page 2 of doc1 to be inserted behind page 9 of doc2; page 3 of doc1 to be inserted behind page 17 of doc2, etc. In general, if n is the page number of document1, I want page n of document1 to be inserted behind page 8*(n-1)+1 of document2. Is this possible?

Using a PDF form to retrieve data from customers
Hi all,
I am sure this can be done but since I am new to 'all this', I'm not sure how to pose or search for the answer properly. I want to use Acrobat to create a fillable form PDF so that I can send it out to customers. Once they fill the form out and return it to me I can then import the data that resides in the the 'fields' in the background of the PDF form into a database or spreadsheet. Am I thinking about this correctly? At this stage I do not want to pursue hosting the document on a website (for simplicity reasons) but just be able to send somebody the blank form, they fill it out and return it to me and instead of copying the information to a database, I can import the data.
