I am adding bookmarks to subheadings in a pdf document in Adobe Pro XI and am having an issue with the Set Destination function in a specific case. I have attached a video that shows the issue clearly, but I'll explain below as well in case some people have trouble viewing the video.
I understand how to create a bookmark for a subhead, and I understand how to use Set Destination to make it so that, when the user clicks on the bookmark in the panel, the subhead appears at the top of the screen.
However, I ran into one problem. Some of my subheads are run-in subheads, which means that the subheads are part of the first line of the paragraph (this is common in APA and some other editorial styles). When the run-in subhead begins the final paragraph of a page and is toward the bottom of the page, the Set Destination function does not work properly. Specifically, when I set the destination to such a subhead, when the user clicks the bookmark in the panel, it sends the user to the page after the bookmark. The closest I can come to getting these subheads to appear at the top of the page is to set the location at the previous sentence, but this is noticeably imprecise. I work in professional contexts in which the bookmark must appear at the top, or my clients' documents will sometimes not be accepted for publication.
Does anyone have an idea how to get these subheads to appear on the first line at the top of the page?
